Kirsty & Scott - A winters Wedding at Parklands, Quendon Hall in Essex

Kirsty & Scott are just one of those couples who you instantly love! From their warm and happy smiles to the way we instantly connected and chatted for hours, not only about their wedding but also about everything else you could possibly imagine! Their consultation was a long one…. but a great night in, with a couple who we are proud to call friends and we were really excited to be their photographers for their February wedding at Parklands, Quendon Hall.

We watched the weather that week in anticipation! According to Scott the forecast was rain (he’d predicted this via long range forecast nearly a month beforehand!) but I’m pleased to say he was wrong!! It was cold (yes, it was February!!) but the sky was clear and later turned to a beautiful warm glow, which enabled Kirsty and Scott to have the perfect winters wedding they had dreamed of!

Both Mark and I attended their day as their photographers, with Rachel starting with the girls in the beautiful 17th century mansion house on the Hertfordshire/Essex border where Kirsty and her 2 bridesmaids and Mum were getting ready! The girls were in great spirits and dressed in beautiful matching kimono’s for hair and make-up before changing into their beautiful dresses in the luxurious bridal suite. Time flew by and before we knew it, they were on their way to the Holy Trinity Church at Hatfield Heath, lets say….fashionably (a few minutes) late!

At the same time Mark was with Scott and the boys at home before following them to the Church for some pictures on the Heath, before ushering them inside for Kirsty’s arrival. Scott seemed cool as a cucumber as he mingled among the guests in the packed out church with everyone eagerly awaiting their first glimpse of Kirsty.

Dressed in a stunningly fitted, ivory lace wedding dress, Kirsty entered the church with her Dad and bridesmaids, plus her little page boy, who confidently walked down the aisle infront of her to Scott, who was waiting at the end of the aisle. The ceremony was an amazing mix of humor, sincerity, blessings for the people who couldn’t be there and vows, through which Kirsty and Scott smiled and exchanged happy glances at each other, taking in the moments and enjoying each one.

They exited to huge applause and into the cold but beautiful sunshine outside the church to celebrate toasts with traditional German spirits (Nubbel?!) among their friends and family before making a quick confetti showered exit and heading back to the warmth of Parklands!

The afternoon flew by in a crazy mix of photo’s, drinks, capapes and live music before the couple and their guests were treated to a non-traditional meal of sausage and mash (loved this!) in the beautifully decorated marquee. In keeping with the German traditions, the couple were treated to some German games following the meal, which had everyone in stitches, then the speeches which were heartfelt and hilarious at the same time.

The couple then partied way into the evening with an amazing live band, photobooth and plenty of things for the guests to do and enjoy! We pulled them outside just a couple more times for some real finale photo’s of their day, one in the walled garden with the house illuminated behind them and the second in the pergola with the partying happening in the background!

We had an amazing day with Kirsty and Scott. We felt welcomed from the very beginning by both the couple and their fantastic family. We wish you all a very happy future together and hope you enjoy, what is just a few of our favourites from their day!

Love, Rachel & Mark xx
